Sunday Funday September 2022

Praise and Prayers

It’s been a really beautiful September. Mostly still warm enough to wear sandles, but getting to enjoy all the loveliness of fall. I have actually never really liked fall—it is all about the leaves and plants dying and it getting cold. But after being in the USA for almost two years, I am enjoying fall more than before. There is just so much work in changing seasons when you aren’t used to changing seasons!

Caid and I had a really good time meeting with our marriage counselor. Looking back and reflecting on how life is moving. We’ve had more time for the little things: playing hide and seek in our house, working with the girls on bike riding (no training wheels for Sofia!), reading together all snuggled up on the couch. We also opened our home for home fellowship on Wednesdays, which is something we’ve wanted to do more of, and God gave us the opportunity.

It kind of feels like we’ve only really lived here for a couple months, because when we first moved, we were focused on moving. Then we were focused on getting Caid through his Transition to Teaching program. Now we are actually here. And it feels really good. We really loved getting to be more involved in our neighborhood with the street fest, and of course the Irish fest and all the other wonderful things at Garfield Park.
