Sunday Funday April

Prayers and Praises

Lent! Passover! Easter! April is a lovely month of celebration, and there is something really incredible about sunny spring days in Indiana: absolutely magical. I also have this thing for Peeps. I really like them.

Praises as Caid finished (I know, I am writing this in early May) his three grad classes and just has one more class left for his transition to teaching program. Life has been very good and everyone has been so supportive and kind, but please pray as Caid is still struggling with mental health issues. His brain is telling him he is in emergency mode over small details that don’t matter, such as not hearing someone say something correctly, or forgetting something. His body responds as if he is reliving a trauma over and over. He has continued to respond correctly, learn ways to help his brain to let go and move on: but it is exhausting.

I couldn’t be more proud of how Caid fights day in and day out to do a good job teaching, a good job at grad school, and be a good dad and husband. But it is hard to have him always in a state of exhaustion. One step at a time, making right choices and continuing to make them…we move forward.

Sofia and Jessica are doing great. Sofia loves school and has really flourished. Jessica is writing letters in all kinds of order all over the place. Hopefully they will stay on paper and spell things. Eventually. Work is going well, and I was able to finish the Mission Moments for Kids curriculum, Paola, a new missionary stayed with us and it was a wonderful time, and I bought the tickets for the Brazil trip this summer! So excited to be there June 26-July 7.

Sofia is learning to ride a bike, lots of bubbles are being blown, and my plants are doing well (I am still learning). This whole “over 70 under 50 degrees” thing is driving me a bit nuts. I seem to get a ton of endorphins as soon as it goes over 70 degrees—while Caid gets heat stress as soon as it gets over 70 degrees…oh bother.
