Real Talk—and Money from 2020

I (Rachel) spent 10 years serving with World Renewal Brazil as the Living Stones coordinator and English Teacher at the International school as a single missionary. Then Caid and I got married and served there for 6 more years as a family (Sofia and Jessica were both born in Brazil).

Now we are back in the USA, where I continue to serve with World Renewal, still captivated by this simple, real idea: Church planting through Child Sponsorships.

But now I see how Living Stones must be connected with—and a foundational piece of—all of World Renewal Brazil. As the Representative for World Renewal Brazil, I’m excited to share and connect you with not just some amazing kids, but with how we are reaching new Christians, training mature leaders, and generating sustainable resources to be able to see those Living Stones children grow up and become the missionaries who are able to go to the ends of the earth for Christ.

We hope you enjoy our family vlogs on Youtube, check out the resources and training on our website, and that I can get a chance to better connect you with what God is doing in Brazil.

2020 changed everything for everyone. We moved transcontinentally and changed vocations. The pandemic stopped everything and allowed us to hear the quiet words of our hearts, and the Holy Spirit. It was a really great journey, and growth for our marriage as we worked on communicating and got wonderful marriage counseling and support through some serious health and mental issues.

In that growth, we were able to be honest with ourselves in ways the busy day-to-day life before the pandemic didn’t allow: Caid realized he was more teamplayer than trailblazer, and that didn’t fit with what was needed on the mission field in Brazil, but it did fit in the new teaching job that God provided—another rich missionary field. Rachel realized that Living Stones had grown into something that didn’t need her in Brazil-but was an exciting, integral part of World Renewal Brazil—that needed a Representative in the USA.

With the blessing, support, and encouragment of all our friends and co-workers in Brazil, we returned to the USA the end of October to begin a new chapter of life. There have been plenty of bumps in the road, and big changes are not easy: but it has been good, and I am continually suprised at a thousand little pieces falling into place in only ways that God can do.

We are so grateful for the amazing community we have in Brazil, and in the USA, and we say a big THANK YOU for your support on each part of our journey!
